Great local restaurant! I like their chicken salad sandwich. It's always busy at lunch time so you might have a hard time grabbing a table at noon

I've eaten here a few times but it has been a while. I decided to give it another try today and it did not disappoint.! I ordered a BLT and it was delicious. The bread tasted like it had just been freshly baked. The bacon was perfect. I am definitely picky when it comes to my bacon. I wasn't terribly hungry so a sandwich with a side of chips was enough for me. However, there are plenty of menu options to choose from, as well as a dispaly full of pastries and cakes for dessert. This restaurant is always busy, but the service is fast and most definitely on point . The kitchen is quick to serve your meal after it's ordered. It is served in plastic baskets lined with paper... so fewer dishes to wash! Customers bus their own tables, which also helps with the speed of things. The decor is definitely dated and the seating area quite cramped. The parking lot is very small with a limited number of spaces which causes patrons to have to park a fair distance away and walk to the restaurant at times. Definitely worth the visit if you're able to find a parking space!

This is the best little diner! When I go through Green Cove I always stop by for lunch. I have never had a meal that wasn't delicious. You can tell it's a place that the locals love. I don't even live in this town, but I always run into people I do know when I go there. It has a charming feel. My only complaint is it seems to be a challenge to find a spot to sit down at if you come during prime time. You order your food at the register then wait up by the counter.

Food is always delicious and of good portion sizes. Reasonably priced as well. Menu is limited but something for everyone for sure. Staff are all friendly and service is fast. Been here 4 times and will be going back. Popular item is the outlaw chicken salad.

Since moving to GCS, we've had lots of folks tell us we had to try this place. We finally had the chance to check it out this morning. When we first got there, the parking lot was completely empty so we wondered if they were open; it was 1030 on a Saturday morning so it was surprising to see the parking lot so empty. We went inside and were the only people there. I know that Yelp asks you to review the food, the service and the ambience so we're going to start with the ambience. There really isn't much to say here. It's a run-of-the-mill open space, one counter for desserts and one counter to place your order. The menu is sandwiches, salads and that's pretty much it. It was 10:30 in the morning so we were actually looking for breakfast but that was our mistake since we didn't know what kind of restaurant it was when we got there we decided to stay because we had heard so many great things and just forgo breakfast for a good sandwich. You order at the counter and I can't say the staff was unpleasant but I also can't say they were pleasant. They were basically just there to do a job which was to take our order... so we got the grilled cheese added bacon and the club sandwich without Swiss. Both sandwiches came exactly as we ordered and were good sandwiches. They put a pickle (no snap) and a small handful of chips on the side but you can also exchange those for potato salad, coleslaw or another kind of salad that I can't remember. We stuck with the chips. The service was pretty quick. Our sandwiches were ready quickly and you have to go up to the counter to get it. There is no tableside service. After we finished eating, we then ordered two cookies to go and a slice of cake to share there. We got a black and white cake, it was very good. We haven't tried our cookies yet but they look delicious and I am going to say based on the taste and quality of the other things we got I'm sure they're also going to be excellent. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back there, but I also wouldn't mind eating there again.
